I understand that Carlos Santana was starting a new chain of restaurants called Maria Marias, with the first location in Walnut Creek , California.

Can anybody confirm if it is open yet or better still if it has opened has anybody gone there? How was the experience food and ambience wise?

I can't confirm it's open, but I bet it will be a nice place. He's been collaborating with a well-known winemaker for his new wine, and the wine has already gotten good reviews. It'll be upscale with emphasis on food and wine pairings.

He became a partner in the company that already owns The Cantina in Mill Valley, Santa Rosa and Walnut Creek. They are not changing the name or the food right away, but will slowly change things as they talk to people. The goal is get food and concept down before opening Carlos Santa Restaurant in Vegas in two years.

Walnut Creek Cantina is 1470 N Broadway
